"When the Red Sox Ruled" will focus on the early formative years of professional baseball taking root in Boston, how the Red Sox established themselves as the preeminent team of the deadball era, and the building of Fenway Park.
 
Professor Thomas Whalen is the author of four books, including Kennedy Versus Lodge: the 1952 Massachusetts Senate Race (2000) and Dynasty's End:  Bill Russell and the World Champion 1968-69 Boston Celtics (2004).  Professor Whalen received his B.A. from Bates College, and M.A. and Ph.D. from Boston College.
