This course focuses on the relationship between mass communication and culture, asking how television, film, radio, Internet, and print media impact contemporary life; how news, politics, advertising, popular culture, entertainment and human behavior have been influenced by the history and technological development of the media. Topics also include government regulation of the media, as well as media professions and evolving practices. Corequisite: ENG 101. F/S
