This course focuses on developing reading skills. Students locate main ideas, recognize supporting details, locate transitions, identify patterns of organization, analyze the use of inferences and vocabulary. They employ skimming and scanning techniques, analyze word meaning through contextual and word structure analyses, and develop dictionary skills. The minimal passing grade for developmental courses is a �C�. Prerequisite: Appropriate placement score. This developmental English course cannot be used to satisfy degree or certificate requirements. F/S/SU
