This course complements ENG 231 Masterpieces of World Literature I by examining the history, growth, and cross influences of ideas and their impact on views of the modern world. Students study major writings and writers of both Eastern and Western literature from the 18th century to the present. Students learn how to understand the universal themes of great literature and the relevance of those themes in the modern world. Prerequisite: ENG 102. S
