Graduation Eligibility 

The College awards diplomas and certificates three times per year in May, August and December.  There is only one commencement ceremony per year which is held in May. 

Students should submit an Intent to Graduate form once they have registered for the final courses to complete their degree or certificate requirements.  Once your application has been received and your file is reviewed, your name will be added to the graduation list. If we have questions about  your application you will be contacted via email by the Registrar’s Office regarding your graduation status. Be sure to check your student email account often. 

Students who will satisfy their requirements by the end of the spring semester and students who have graduated in August or December of the previous year will be invited to participate in the May Commencement Ceremony.  Information regarding the Commencement Ceremony will be sent to graduates via their student email account early April.

Students who have no more than two courses remaining to complete their degree or certificate and plan to register for those remaining requirements during the summer session may participate in the May Commencement Ceremony.  Students will need to submit an Intent to Graduate form for August graduation once they have registered for their summer courses. 

The deadline to file an Intent to Graduate form as a May graduate or as an August graduate who wishes to participate in the May Ceremony is Tuesday April 20th. Intent to Graduate forms received after this deadline will not be included in the Commencement Ceremony or Commencement Program book.

Tassel

The QCC Commencement Committee is excited to once again use Tassel for this year's Commencement ceremony. Tassel is a name-reading platform that helps ensure your name is pronounced correctly and displayed accurately as you walk across the stage.

Graduates will receive an email in early April to their student email address with instructions for completing the Tassel RSVP form. We ask that all graduates complete the form, even if they do not plan to attend the ceremony, as it contains important details about how their name will be printed on their diploma and in the Commencement program. Please take your time and complete all sections of the form.

The Tassel RSVP form will open on Monday April 5th and must be completed by Saturday April 24th.

If you do not complete the Tassel RSVP form by the April 24th deadline, you may still participate in the Commencement Ceremony; however, we will not be able to update the display or pronunciation of your name.

Please ensure that your name appears on the Graduation List. If it does not, please submit an Intent to Graduate form or contact commencement@qcc.mass.edu  

Academic Honors

Quinsigamond Community College honors students for their outstanding academic achievement.

  • Highest Honors : 3.6 or higher GPA
  • High Honors : 3.3 to 3.59 GPA
  • Honors : 3.0 to 3.29 GPA

The honors designation will be reflected on your academic transcript and in the commencement program. Please note, honors indicated in the commencement program are based on cumulative quality point average prior to spring semester grades.

What GPA do I need to graduate with honors?

Highest Honors requires a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher, High Honors requires a GPA of 3.3 to 3.59 and Honors requires 3.0 to 3.29. When will I receive my diploma?

Diplomas will be mailed to the graduate's home address on file usually 4-6 weeks after the end of the semester. Please note that all unresolved financial obligations to the College must be resolved before your diploma or an official transcript will be issued.

 

My diploma or certificate has become lost or damaged.  How can I request a replacement?

Replacement diplomas and certificates can be requested by submitting a Replacement Degree or Certificate form to the Registrar’s Office along with a $25 replacement fee.
