Graduation Clearance

The College awards diplomas and certificates three times per year in May, August and December.  There is only one commencement ceremony per year which is held in May. 

Students should submit an Intent to Graduate form once they have registered for the final courses to complete their degree or certificate requirements.  Once your application has been received and your file is reviewed, your name will be added to the grdauton list. If we have questions about  your application you will be contacted via email by the Registrar’s Office regarding your graduation status.  Be sure to check your Qmail student email account often. 

Students who will satisfy their requirements by the end of the spring semester and students who have graduated in August or December of the previous year will be invited to participate in the May Commencement Ceremony.  Information regarding the Commencement Ceremony will be sent to graduates via their Qmail student email account mid-April.

Students who have no more than two courses remaining to complete their degree or certificate and plan to register for those remaining requirements during the summer session may participate in the May Commencement Ceremony.  Students will need to submit an Intent to Graduate form for August graduation once they have registered for their summer courses.  The deadline to file an Intent to Graduate form for August to participate in the May Ceremony is Friday April 29th. Intent to Graduate forms received after this deadline will not be included in the Commencement Ceremony or Commencement Program book.

Quinsigamond Community College honors students for their outstanding academic achievement.

  • Highest Honors : 3.6 or higher GPA
  • High Honors : 3.3 to 3.59 GPA
  • Honors : 3.0 to 3.29 GPA

The honors designation will be reflected on your academic transcript and in the commencement program. Please note, honors indicated in the commencement program are based on cumulative quality point average prior to spring semester grades.

How do I get my Cap and Gown?

All August 2021, December 2021, and May 2022 graduates received an email to their Qmail account with a link to order their caps, gowns and tassels. There is no cost to order the cap and gown and it may be kept as a memento of the occasion. The deadline to order your cap and gown was Friday April 1, 2022. If you missed the ordering deadline additional cap and gowns will be available for pick up on a first come, first serve basis. Cap and Gowns will be available for pick up in person in May. More information will be sent once the details are finalized.

Will there be any COVID-19 requirements to attend the Commencement Ceremony?

COVID-19 regulations will be announced the first week of May. Please continue to check your Qmail for additional information.

 

I have not completed all of my requirements to graduate in May, can I still participate in the Commencement Ceremony?

Students who have no more than two courses remaining to complete their degree or certificate and plan to register for those remaining requirements during the summer session may participate in the May Commencement Ceremony.  Students will need to submit an Intent to Graduate form for August graduation once they have registered for their summer courses.  Students who are registered in no more than two classes over the summer session will be allowed to participate in the May Commencement Ceremony and will officially graduate in August. The deadline to file an Intent to Graduate form to participate in May Commencement is Friday April 29th.

 

What GPA do I need to graduate with honors?

Highest Honors requires a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher, High Honors requires a GPA of 3.3 to 3.59 and Honors requires 3.0 to 3.29.  Please note that honor cords will not be distributed to qualifying individuals for the commencement ceremony, however the honors designation will be reflected in the commencement program and on your academic transcript. Honors indicated in the commencement program are based on cumulative quality point average prior to spring semester grades.

 

When will I receive my diploma?

For students completing their requirements in May, diplomas will be handed out at the end of the May Commencement Ceremony. Diplomas not picked up the day of Commencement will be available for pick up at the Registrar's Office beginning Monday May 23rd through Friday June 3rd. You will need a photo ID to pick up your diploma or certificate. All remaining diplomas will be mailed to the graduate's home address on file.

Diplomas for August and December 2021 graduates have already been mailed to the home address on file. Student's completing their requirements in August 2022 will receive more information on when their diplomas will be available.

 

My diploma or certificate has become lost or damaged.  How can I request a replacement?

Replacement diplomas and certificates can be requested by submitting a Replacement Degree or Certificate form to the Registrar’s Office along with a $25 replacement fee.
