What's New?

Attend your Fall 2024 courses! If you are registered for classes, you must attend your classes in order to receive financial aid for that course. If you do not attend (or for online coursework actively participate), your financial aid will be reduced. QCC offers many support services to help you succeed.

Have you heard about free community college through MassEducate and MassReconnect? Effective Fall 2024, eligible MA residents can apply for financial aid and receive grant funding to cover their tuition and required fees. Many students will also qualify for an allowance for books and supplies! The first step is to submit your 2024-2025 FAFSA!

Fall 2024 refund checks will be available starting in late October/early November. Funds will be disbursed to student accounts as they are received from the federal and state government. Some funds may not disburse until later in the semester as a result.  Refund checks are created when the funds disbursed to the student's account exceed the tuition and fees charged.

File your 2024-2025 FAFSA - it is not too late!  There are major changes to the application, so be sure to read the instructions carefully.

  • If you submitted a 2024-2025 FAFSA already, you can update or correct your FAFSA, if needed.
  • Check your file on The Q.  Respond to any requests for additional information.
  • Award Offer letters are going out every week. If you have not received an award offer letter yet, do not worry! If your file is complete, your courses will be held for you while we determine your eligibility. You can and should attend your courses!

Free FAFSA appointments are available at the QCC Financial Aid Help Center and MassEdCO, if you need assistance.

Important Information About Your Financial Aid

  • Once the Financial Aid Office receives your missing documents, it can take up to three business days before The Q  is updated.
  • QCC has partnered with ProVerifier+ to assist with the verification process. If your FAFSA was selected for verification, you may receive an email with separate portal access including instructions on how to complete verification with ProVerifier+. Information requested within the ProVerifier+ portal must be returned through the ProVerifier+ portal (not to QCC directly).

Students can agree to their Credit Balance Authorization electronically. When you login to The Q, a pop up appears and you can either “agree” or “disagree” to allow QCC to apply your financial aid to all charges on your bill. You can agree even if you do not currently have financial aid, but may in the future as this agreement is active for the duration of your enrollment at QCC.
