Advising helps students plan a strategy for achieving their career and academic goals. We guide students through the academic experience and help them align their academic and career pursuits. Advisors also provide information about important resources and careers associated with QCC programs of study. It is important to see your advisor early and often to stay on your path! Questions? Running a "What-If" Degree Audit can help you explore other programs or majors, without officially making a change to your current one.
Students who are assigned to the “Advising Center” or “Advising Center-Health,” have completed at least 30 college level credits at QCC, and have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA, are eligible to self-register. Those who meet the criteria and are not assigned to “Advising Center” must request self-registration clearance from advisor. Students are responsible for running their degree audit both BEFORE and AFTER registering for classes to confirm how their chosen courses flow into their degree audit.
This simple, one page handout shows you how to REGISTER for classes, DROP classes, or even SWAP out classes. Please note that you must first be CLEARED TO SELF-REGISTER by your assigned advisor to have access to these features. Not sure if you are "cleared?" Try it! You'll get a pop-up notice if you aren't. Need clearance to be able to self-register? Contact your assigned advisor to see if you're eligible.
This pamphlet outlines a simple, 4-step model of career exploration.
